In October 2019, Hart voor Tanzania featured in RTV Oost’s Overijssel in Actie campaign. The broadcaster highlighted the volunteers, retired doctors, hospitals and businesses working towards a heart clinic in Moshi. It introduced people across the region to the project and the support it needed.
The first containers of hospital supplies were on their way. A working group was also preparing to visit KCMC. Alongside healthcare professionals, people with construction and organisational experience would work with hospital managers on the plans.
Inviting Overijssel to take part
The campaign welcomed different kinds of support. Funding was needed to develop the clinic, while donated equipment and volunteers’ time also played a part. RTV Oost’s coverage showed how these efforts fitted together and invited others to help.
This article records the campaign’s launch in 2019, before the first stone was laid that November. The linked source contains the broadcaster’s original appeal. Amounts, schedules and donation arrangements from that time should be read as historical information.
